Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program
The Alberta PNP Program might be for you if you want to live and work in Alberta. The Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP), originally the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program, is a programme for economic immigration that recommends people for permanent residence in Alberta. It is intended for people who have the knowledge and skills to fill Alberta's labour shortages. The government of Alberta and Canada runs this program.
Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) covers the following immigration programs
Streams for entrepreneurs
For business owners who intend to live in Alberta and either acquire or launch a firm there, the AAIP offers four streams:
Rural Entrepreneur Stream
In a rural Alberta town, business owners can submit an Expression of Interest if they want to open a new company or purchase an existing one (EOI).
Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
To start a business or purchase an existing one, international graduates of recognised post-secondary institutions in Alberta can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI).
Farm Stream
Farmers with experience who wish to purchase or establish a farm in Alberta may do so.
Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
Outside of Canada, foreign graduates are eligible to seek for permanent residency.
Streams for workers
For workers belongs to foreign and residing in Alberta and working there or who intend to do so, the AAIP offers three streams:
Alberta Opportunity Stream
An AAIP nomination can be requested by qualified individuals who reside in Alberta, work there, and have a job offer from a business there.
Alberta Express Entry Stream
The AAIP may ask qualified individuals with an Express Entry profile a PR nomination application must be submitted. The Accelerated Tech Pathway allows tech professionals to be eligible for expedited processing.
Rural Renewal Stream
An AAIP nomination can be requested by qualified candidates with offer of job from an Alberta employer to work in one of the province's designated rural communities.
General Express Entry candidates
Based on the profile details that are currently viewable on the federal Express Entry website, Alberta may select candidates and send them a Notification of Interest letter. Applicants submit their own profiles to the federal Express Entry pool.
If you are interested in being considered for this stream and you receive a NOI letter from Alberta, you should definitely send the letter’s copy via email and more details to the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP) within 14 days of receiving.
Eligibility for Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP)
The specific subcategory of the immigration stream determines the eligibility requirements for the Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP).
If you have any of the following, you may apply for the Alberta Opportunity Stream: –
- A minimum of 24 months' worth of job experience in Canada over the previous 30 months, or at least 12 months' worth of work experience in Alberta over the previous 18 months
- At least a high school diploma
- Depending on the occupation, min Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 4 or 5
- Must be employed in an Albertan qualified occupation that corresponds to your work experience;
- Must have a valid work permit
If you have any of the following, you may apply for the Alberta Express Entry Stream: –
- A CRS (Comprehensive Ranking System) score of at least 300
- Must be employed with profession that promotes the growth and diversification of Alberta's economy
- Must have declared a desire to settle permanently in Alberta
- Must be a member of Express Entry
If you have any of the following, you may apply for the Self-Employed Farmer Stream: –
- Plans for investments included in a proposed business plan
- Financial resources sufficient (minimum investment of CAD $500,000)
- Skills in farm management
How to apply for the AINP?
This is how you can apply for the AINP –
- Review the criteria for eligibility
- You must register for Express Entry
- Provide the required paperwork
- The Express Entry pool receives the application
- Here, Alberta looks over each applicant's profile
- The NOI (Notification of Interest) is available from Alberta
- You have a set amount of time after getting the NOI to submit a comprehensive application
- You will be informed via the Express Entry website
- You must then accept the provincial nomination at that point
- Once you agree, the CRS score is increased by 600 points
- The EOI is now due from the candidate (Expression of Interest)
- Selected candidates come from the Express Entry draw
- The ITA (Invitation to Apply) is then sent out
