Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP)
Prince Edward Island is an Atlantic island province with a small population and a limited area, but it has a thriving agricultural, fishing, and tourism sector and an amazing coastal culture.
It is a collection of immigration routes intended to bring in young graduates who have recently completed post-secondary education as well as business-savvy immigrants and skilled workers. The province has three different categories for its immigration streams:
- PEI PNP Express Entry;
- Labour Impact Category;
- Business Impact Category.
PEI PNP Express Entry
This group of immigrants includes those who indicated in their federal Express Entry pool application that they wanted to reside and work in Prince Edward Island. Applicants for this technique should be eligible for one of the federal economic immigration classes, and they should have the education and work history that, given the current labour shortage in Prince Edward Island, are comparable to those of the provinces in that province.
Process
1. Assess Your Eligibility
Candidates must register in the federal Express Entry system before being considered for PEI Express Entry.
2. Create a PEI Expression of Interest Profile
If a candidate satisfies the aforementioned criteria, they must subsequently develop a PEI Expression of Interest profile. Your profile is evaluated using a six-month PEI Expression of Interest point system. Age, language proficiency, education, work experience, employment, and adaptability are all taken into account when scoring profiles.
3. Invitation to Apply
The top-scoring applicants receive invitations to apply via monthly draws that are held. A candidate has 60 days from receiving an invitation to apply to complete and submit a complete application.
4. Prepare Your Application
All federal and provincial application forms, as well as any accompanying materials, must be completed by applicants who have been invited to apply.
5. Submit Your Application
Candidates have two options for submitting their applications: in person or via mail.
6. Submit Your Application For Permanent Residence
Successful candidates are recommended for permanent residence to the federal government by PEI. Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada will then ask you to submit an application for permanent residency.
7. Land in Prince Edward Island
You may arrive in PEI if your application for permanent residence is approved. Within 30 days of landing, you must report to the Office of Immigration.
Eligibility
To qualify for the PEI PNP Express Entry stream, candidates must be listed in the federal Express Entry pool. In order to submit a profile to the pool, candidates must be eligible for at least one of three government economic programmes:
Federal Skilled Worker - Candidates must have at least a high school graduation and at least a year of prior full-time, specialised work experience. Work experience is classified as skilled if it was obtained in a position at National Occupational Classification (NOC) Skill Level 0, A, or B. Further proof of level 7 Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) language proficiency in either English or French is required from candidates.
Federal Skilled Trades - There is no prerequisite education needed. A minimum of two years of full-time work experience in a skilled profession is required of applicants for the FST programme. Candidates must also have a job offer to work in a skilled trade in Canada or a certificate of qualification in their profession from a Canadian authority.
Canadian Experience Class - There isn't a prerequisite for education. Candidates for the CEC must have completed at least one year of full-time, skilled employment in Canada. The three years leading up to the application must have seen the acquisition of this work experience, which need not be continuous. When gained in a position requiring NOC Skill Level 0, A, or B, work experience is regarded as skilled.
Job Offer
It is not necessary for candidates to have a job offer from a PEI employer. Those who already live and work in PEI will, however, be given special attention. The PEI Fast Entry Ranking System assesses applicants differently if they have a genuine job offer.
Application Procedure
A comparable Expression of Interest (EOI) system to Express Entry is used by the PEI PNP Express Entry stream. Candidates who satisfy the requirements must submit a profile to PEI's candidate pool. The PEI Express Entry Ranking System will subsequently be used to compare all of the candidates in the pool.
Expression of Interest
Anyone interested in applying to the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program who satisfies the program's requirements must create a profile in our online Expression of Interest (EOI) system. By entering a working email address along with your contact and passport details, you can create an EOI account at any time. Following the creation of your account, you can choose the provincial stream for which you want to apply and submit your profile for consideration by the office. In the event that your profile is chosen, you will get an invitation to apply. Those with the greatest ability to establish themselves economically in PEI are given preference.
Labour Impact
Applications for provincial nomination through one of Prince Edward Island's Labour Impact streams are welcome from foreign employees and recent graduates. If they are granted PEI PNP, these programmes allow people who have previously been recruited by a PEI employer to access an expedited route to permanent residence.
- Skilled Workers in PEI
- Critical Worker
- International Graduate
Skilled Worker Stream
It is for employees that a PEI employer has found or recruited. To apply for this stream, you must either currently be working in Prince Edward Island or have a job offer from a PEI firm.
