Canadian Experience Class
Since 2008, this program has provided a significant pathway for applicants who have worked here and wish to obtain permanent residency. For foreign graduates and foreign workers (on temporary basis) who wish to get Canadian job experience, the CEC is a prominent option.
- Federal Skilled Worker (FSW)
- Federal Skilled Trades (FST)
- Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
Eligibility for CEC
It was designed primarily for those who have had the necessary experience of working inside Canada before obtaining permanent residence in Canada. Not every resident of Canada is qualified to submit an application for the Canada Experience Class. It is only open to people who currently reside here and meet certain eligibility requirements such as –
- Meet the language proficiency standards required for the position for each language (speaking, reading, listening, and writing).
- Decide to relocate outside of the province of Quebec
- Should have min of 12 months of job experience inside Canada
Requirements for Canadian Experience Class
CEC requires the candidate to meet the following requirements:
- The applicant must pass the required medical tests and receive a security clearance
- You must also take the language test which is approved by the CIC or Citizenship and Immigration Canada
- You must meet or exceed the Canadian Language Benchmark or the CLB
- Your Canadian employment experience needs to have been authorised properly.
Benefits of CEC
Below are the benefits of the PR visa–
- Under the Comprehensive Ranking System, it grants the immigrant access to points of CRS for prior expertise.
- Applications for CEC are often processed within 90 to 120 days as there are significantly fewer documents needed.
- In contrast to the FSTC and FSWC, candidates who fall under CEC are not obliged to provide any documentation about the settlement payments.
Language Ability
You must have the following –
- In your Express Entry profile, describe the test results.
- Take standardised writing, reading, listening, and speaking tests in the language.
- Min. level of 7 for TEER 0 or TEER 1 jobs or 5 for TEER 2 or TEER 3 jobs
